Bankruptcy Trustee Representation
The firm's senior partner, Mark H. Shapiro, has served as a panel Chapter 7 trustee for the Eastern District of Michigan since his appointment in 1998, and is a member of the National Association of Bankruptcy Trustees. Mr. Shapiro has also accepted special appointments as examiner in highly contested Chapter 11s and as receiver in Federal District Court.
In addition to representing Mr. Shapiro in his capacity as Chapter 7 Trustee, the attorneys at Steinberg Shapiro & Clark represent other panel trustees in Chapter 7 cases and trustees in Chapters 11 and 13. The firm handles all aspects of trustee representation, including asset sales, discharge litigation, preference and fraudulent transfer litigation, exemption disputes, asset valuations, lien validity and priority, and claims litigation. This experience provides an added dimension of expertise, insight, and practical guidance many firms are unable to provide when a client is involved in any aspect of a bankruptcy case.
